Galatians 3:22-29 Faith kills the law. We are all born with a sin nature (
Romans 5:12), and it took God's holy law (
Romans 7:12) to show us that we will receive the eternal wrath of God (
Romans 1:18;
4:15) if we do not trust in Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection for our sins (
I Corinthians 15:3-4). Once we come to faith, the law's purpose is gone (
Galatians 3:22-26). God makes us dead to the law (
Romans 6:10-11) and marries us to Christ as His body (
Romans 7:1-4). We then receive the dry baptism by the Holy Spirit into Christ's death (
Romans 6:3-5;
Ephesians 4:4-6;
I Corinthians 12:13;
I Corinthians 1:17) so that we are identified with his death so that we can be identified with His resurrection life. We are given eternal life, and our lives are hid in Christ (
Colossians 3:1-3) so that we may then walk in the good works that God had before ordained (
Ephesians 2:10).
