2014-07-20 Galatians 4:21 - 5:12 Live in free grace. For the remainder of chapter 4, Paul uses the allegory of Hagar, Ishmael, Sarah, and Isaac to show that, today, we are under the law until being saved. Once believing in the faith of Jesus Christ, we live free in the grace of God. Therefore, we are to cast out the law. Those, wanting to keep the law alive, seek to make "a fair shew in the flesh" (6:12), rather than walking in the Spirit, because the cross offends them (5:11).
