THE FULNESS OF TIME AND WHAT IS SAYS ABOUT GOD
Galatians 4:4-8 KJV

It is often said that a particular person was “born for his time.

George Washington, and indeed all of those involved in the founding of our nation were men, “born for their time.”
• They were uniquely educated
• They were uniquely suited
• They were uniquely situated
To do exactly what they did – when they did it.

Jesus was more than a product of his times; Jesus is God, come to this earth at a particular and chosen time.

Mercy – that He redeems us from our sin
Grace-that He gave us His Son
Faithfulness-that He kept His promise

I. OMNISCIENCE
Psalms 147:5 KJV
Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

There are only two ways we can understand the word infinite here either:
• It is an exaggeration and not true or
• God’s understand (wisdom, knowledge) is without end

• He knows what happened in the past
• He knows what will be in the future
• He knows the minutest details of Jewish thought and culture

A. It was at a low point in Jewish spirituality
The Jewish faith had disintegrated into opposing groups of thought concerning:
• The infallibility of the Word of God
• The relevance of the Word to real life and
• The purpose of their religion and heritage

One the one hand you had the Pharisees, who had elevated their own rules and traditions above the Word of God.

B. It was at a high point in Roman world influence
Between the Greeks and then the Romans, by 30 AD the Middle East had a system of roads and sea travel that connected everything from the
• Western reaches of Europe to the
• Eastern reaches of the Orient, and from the
• Northern areas of modern Russia down to the
• Southern areas as far as the Sahara desert in Africa.

C. It was a needy point in the hearts of mankind

II. OMNIPOTENCE

That speaks to God’s power:
A. Over birth

B. Over life

C. Over time

III. LOVE
God’s love is expressed not only because He sent His only begotten Son, but because He sent Him at the right time.

IV. OMNIPRESENCE
By this I just mean to remind you that, He was here all the time.
