Breakout Discussion Guide
1. Icebreaker. Share your name and where you live. What is the thing you miss most since shelter in place started.
2. Each person may share one of the following questions:
- God's essential character is mercy and not anger, and so God wants us to be merciful people. Share a situation where you have been shown mercy or where you showed mercy to someone else.
- God's gospel agenda is driven by mercy not anger. How do you respond to someone who seems to enjoy sharing the angry side of God?
- God's justice favors mercy and not anger. How should we respond to negative rumors about another person?
- Jesus Christ is the instrument of God's mercy. Moses basically tells us that, according to God, there is no middle ground between a covenant relationship with Him and idolatry. How is that so (in other words, unpack and explain this statement).
