This week we drive into Mark 15:15-20. After the mock trial at the hands of the high priests, and his interrogation by Pilate, Jesus was scourged and handed over to a battalion of Roman Soldiers - about 600 men - who proceeded to conduct a mock coronation, crowning the true King of the Jews with a crown of thorns. We look more closely why any reference to Jesus as King infuriated the high priests.
