Isaac, against God's will, tries to bless Esau instead of Jacob. Rebekah takes matters into her own hands, sinning in the process, to help Jacob take the blessing from Esau. The chapter can be summed up by Proverbs 14:12 "There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death."
