Question: Was Gideon's "Fleece Test" a sin or not?
Answer: Jesus Christ told Satan in the wilderness of temptation that "It is written! Thou shalt not test the Lord Thy God." Jesus was referring to The Torah. Okay. So testing God is a sin. But why wasn't Gideon's "Fleece Test" a sin? I believe it is because he wasn't testing The Lord to see if He was Lord. There is a difference. Gideon wanted to make sure that he was hearing from The Lord. That it wasn't a false voice or spirit from elsewhere. He knew God and wasn't testing to prove that He was God. Satan wanted Jesus to prove that God was God. Big difference.
As we continue to explore Judges, in Chapter 6, The Angel of The LORD waits for Gideon to return with meat & unleavened bread. After Gideon does and the meal is consumed by The Angel of The LORD's staff, by the fire from the rock, on which the meal was placed, The Angel of The LORD disappears. Gideon freaks out and thinks he's going to die since he realizes for the first time that he just saw The Angel of The LORD face to face.....Watch to find out more that involves Gideon making sure it's The LORD telling him to go to battle by using the "Fleece Test". There is so much more, that even Hollywood couldn't make this up. Thus, let's delve into Joshua 6:19 thru 8:27, on another edition of Episode 88, of the "Christ's Well" series.
