In our Christian Life, our relationship with Christ requires our total dependence on His provision. The first, and most obvious, meaning of this request is that God would sustain us physically. Jesus was perhaps alluding to God's provision of manna, which was given every day in the desert (Exodus 16:4-12; Deuteronomy 8:3; John 6:31).
