Paul writes this letter to the Church at Corinth to encourage them to give to the needs of the Church in Jerusalem who at that time were in poverty and needed some assistances from other Churches.

Paul told the church that the Churches in Macedonia had given already and they were poverty stricken but still wanted to give from their heart and treasure and they gave more then what he expected them to give.
