God Giving of Himself!
Genesis 46:1-7
At the place of wells and oaths (Beersheba) God confirms again that He will be with Israel as he travels to Egypt (Gen 46:1-7). God tells him not to fear (Gen 46:3), because Jacob will become the foundation stone to the building of a great nation (Israel) (Gen 46:3). Plus, one day God will bring out Jacob with Joseph (Gen 46:4) and the people of Israel back to the land of Canaan, which is the place of covenant /promise given to Abraham, Isaac and to him. God reminds Jacob of three important truths. 1. I Am God (Gen 46:3). 2. I will fulfill my plan (Gen 46:3). 3. I will go down with you (Gen 46:4). Jacob was not to be afraid (Gen 46:3), but to have faith that God was with him and his family on their journey. Disciple Principle: As followers of Christ, we need to have faith that wherever Christ is calling us to do and to go, He will also be with us on our journey, but the key is to respond to Christ by saying “Here I am”. Remember: Christ is now and will continue to walk with us as we journey through this world on to His Kingdom, for He is the great “I AM”. (John 14:6; John 17:6-26).
