In this message from Joel 1:5-7 we examine how God humbled the Israelites by removing their “fruit of the vine” that drunkards in Israel had callously abused without giving thanks to God. Ironically, many of the Israelites who abused the fruit of the vine by getting drunk did so while giving thanks to Baal who was the Canaanite fertility God. We explore how this kind of arrogance and pride will be judged in the future just as it was in Joel’s day through a devastating locust plague.
