While the words were still in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, "O King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: The kingdom has departed from you, and you shall be driven from among men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. And you shall be made to eat grass like an ox, and seven periods of time shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will." Immediately the word was fulfilled against Nebuchadnezzar. — Daniel 4:31-33

Sometimes, people ask me what happens to those who are never exposed to God's Word. I think Nebuchadnezzar is an exciting example.

You see, just because someone doesn't have a bible in their hands or a church in their area, this does not excuse anyone from believing. God speaks to man in more than one way or the way we expect him to. God calls to all men over a lifetime using a variety of means. He calls to men through events, dreams, circumstances, and even his people. He presents these warnings to us faithfully, giving us numerous opportunities to believe, which is precisely what happens here. Nebuchadnezzar is given dreams, visions, explanations, miracles, and people (not a bible or a church), yet he rejects them all. But there does come a moment when God will speak and confront him for himself. And when this happened, he met with a reckoning.

And this is the truth for all men. God warns us, aside from the resources of the bible or a local church, that he is God. He did it this way long before the bible was ever printed. Long before your denomination ever existed. He gave this man multiple opportunities to believe even though he was surrounded by pagan ideas, pagan politics, and pagan gods. Which I think pretty much absolves us all from any excuse because God can and will reveal himself in more than one way.

So the question is, "Are you listening?" Are you hearing God and heeding his voice? Because at some point, all men will meet with the terror of his mighty voice. And you want to make sure that it's not the first time you've heard it because, at that moment, it's too late.

ASK THIS: Are you listening to God's voice?

DO THIS: Listen to his voice through people, dreams, circumstances, and scripture today.

PRAY THIS: God, I want to hear and listen to your voice.

PLAY THIS: I'm Listening.
