I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at ease in my house and prospering in my palace. I saw a dream that made me afraid. As I lay in bed the fancies and the visions of my head alarmed me. So I made a decree that all the wise men of Babylon should be brought before me, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream. Then the magicians, the enchanters, the Chaldeans, and the astrologers came in, and I told them the dream, but they could not make known to me its interpretation. — Daniel 4:4-7

In this situation, the king moves suddenly from ease to terror. The text is pretty dramatic. In one verse, he's in one state, and in the next, he is a terrified man. And again, it's a dream that causes him to panic.

Gentlemen, God can reach any man. There is no man alive who is out of his reach. God can reach the most stubborn, immovable, arrogant, and resistant man. He can get to them inside the confines of their fortress, protected by soldiers, and surrounded by puppets. He can penetrate the mind of mortal man with dreams, visions, images, and nightmares. He can do this anytime and anywhere when he wants to get a man's attention. In the New Testament alone, he did it with military commanders like Cornelius, simple followers like Ananais, influential religious leaders like Saul, and faithful disciples like Peter. Right here, he reaches into the mind of the world's richest and most powerful monarch.

So today, you may know someone like this. Someone as stubborn as this king. There is a simple and cautious prayer you might pray — that God would awaken their mind to the Lord with a dream from him. Sometimes this might be the only way to reach those men who are unreachable.

ASK THIS: Is there someone you know who is resistant to God.

DO THIS: Pray for them.

PRAY THIS: God, reach into the mind of the stubborn today. I want them desperately to know you and your ways.

PLAY THIS: The Change In Me.
