We are more flawed than we ever dared believe, yet more loved than we ever dared hope.

The life and kingship of David exemplifies what Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 1:28, "[That] God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing that the world considers important." As a lowly shepherd boy, David wasn't qualified to lead a nation by worldly standards. As we'll see in this sermon series, God often chooses the weak things of the world to lead the strong so that He can show His glory.
