There are two great and unbiblical divides that exist in the minds of many people when it comes to the matter of salvation.

The first unbiblical division is a division between a willingness to receive the work of Christ on behalf of sinners and a willingness to receive Christ Himself. It is the idea that one can receive the work of Christ on his or her behalf while rejecting the personal rule of Christ.

The second unbiblical and eternally dangerous separation is one that is front and center before us in this passage. It is the unbiblical thought that salvation can change someone's status with God without changing them.
