Sermon: Gospel Hope
Text: 1 Peter 1:1-12
Date: November 8, 2020

The Gospel Hope: The gospel is the one hope that we truly need, and God has accomplished what was necessary for us to have it. He has offered it to all.

Central Truth: God has given us a living hope rooted in the Gospel. It is a hope that is a certainty.

Main Point #1: Gospel hope is the work of God
God is the one responsible for our hope. It is comforting to know that our salvation, the hope of the gospel, is dependent upon and accomplished by God himself.

Main Point #2: Gospel hope results in praise
Because of the gospel hope we have, we must be a people of praise who want others to hear that hope. See 2 Corinthians 1:3, Ephesians 1:3.

Main Point #3: Gospel hope produces joy even in suffering
See James 1:2-4 "Count it all joy".

Main Point #4 Gospel hope is a privilege
Nothing compares to the privilege of following Jesus. See Philippians 3:5-8.
