The sermon is from Paul's Letter to the Romans 1:3-4
"The Gospel Reformation of Evangelicalism"
Who are you and what do you value? What is your culture- your common unifying values and shared experience. In the church today we may notice that we often culturally defined not by the gospel of the Son. Paul took the best cultural confessions of who Jesus was in the first century and inserted them into his lengthy and unprecedented introduction at the outset of Romans. We see that there really is no such thing as evangelical culture unless there is a culture of the evangel, or good news.

We sang: Holy! Holy! Holy!
My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less
Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing
Be Thou my Vision
Gloria Patri
and the Doxology
We observed the celebration of Communion.
We prayed the Lord's Prayer and confessed the Apostles' Creed.

We had a gospel lesson from Ephesians 6:10-20.
And a children's lesson on the question of "how can a person with a sinful heart be changed?" Only through the work of God's grace done by the Holy Spirit called regeneration.

If you're in the area, we'd love to see you in person.

The sermon this week breaks down the third and fourth verses of Paul's introduction to Paul's Letter to the Romans. It is the longest introduction of any bible letter and also the longest of any non-biblical letter in the ancient Greco-roman world. In verse 2, Paul makes it clear that the gospel from God concerning His Son was foretold by the prophets in the holy scriptures. In v3-4 he tells us that the gospel concerns the Son, who has a dual sonship that gives life-changing meaning to His resurrection from the dead. To embrace Christ is to be wrapped up in a new culture and world that flows from the life we share in the resurrected Jesus.
