I wrote this Greek song in early 1995 for my students in Maktab Teologi Sabah, Melangkap Kota Belud where I had a trial run teaching Greek and most students loved it and were pretty good at Greek. I tried teaching Greek in MTS Namaus in 2016 but this time not so successful though some students loved it with one student scoring 100percent in the finals, something not achieved even in my 5 years of teaching Greek in Singapore.
This song is most meaningful to me because we worship a God who loves sinners and who forgives our many transgressions, only if we humble ourselves like the tax collector of Luke 18 and cry out from our hearts to Him for mercy. Kyrie Eleison!
The lyrics are as follows:
Ho theos hilastheti moi, to hamartolo Kyrie Eleison
