Where or what we find security in, there we find our faith. As Christians, we need to trust in the Lord, to have faith in God! The ideology of our times tells us that security is found in ability, accomplishments, power, money, education, or reputation. That ideology might sound right to some, but the Bible reminds us to, “lean not on your own understanding,” but again, trust in the Lord, have faith in God! Keep the Faith! This short Bible study / devotional out of the book of Jeremiah, reminds us that faith is God is the only place where we will find lasting security. Trust in God.
Key Verse:
*** Key Verse:
Jeremiah 48:7 "For, because you trusted in your works and your treasures, you also shall be taken..."
*** Supporting Bible Verses About Trusting God:

January 29th 2011 Freddy Nock shattered the 30 year old, highest tightrope walk. He walked, just over 1138 feet, going between two Swiss mountaintops. Having 5,249 feet of air, between him and the ground. All without any sort of safeguarding.
Now tell me, as Freddy walked that tightrope, where do you think he placed his trust, his confidence, his security? In the tightrope. That tightrope was the only thing in between Freddy and splat. At almost a mile up in the sky, you get perspective. You learn, that a lot of things most people place their security in, just didn’t matter. Accomplishments, reputation, degrees, position, or money, none of that offers any real security. In that moment, nothing in Freddy’s life matter more or offered more, than that tightrope. – So that’s what he focused on, and trust in.
As we’ve been reading through the book of Jeremiah together, now at Chapter 48, we learned that Moab had it all wrong. They were a prideful nation that placed their trust and security in their wealth, accomplishments, and false god.
But in verse 7 they’re told, “For, because you trusted in your works and your treasures, you also shall be taken.” The lesson is, true and lasting safety is not found in anything, or anyone else, but the one true God. The question we have to ask ourselves is, where do we ultimately place our trust as we walk the tightrope of life?
Proverbs 3:5–6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. A lot of things in the world offer temporary security. But if you want lasting security, Go to God.
That’s today’s Bible Munch.
