I'm doing daily Bible verse readings to share, grow, and impact others for good!

Hebrews 12:6 (NLT)
"For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.”

The unique thing about Hebrews is that we don't know who specifically wrote the book of Hebrews. What we do know is that it was written to Jewish converts to reinforce their faith in Christ.

In Chapter 12 there is the consistent theme that through discipline, God proves his love. This is presented as an active role of a loving father. God corrects our mistakes on purpose. In fact, sometimes, he may put us in a position for growth, especially spiritual growth an development, when we have gone against what God would want so that we can help in finding the right path.

As Christians, this verse is a solid reminder that, for example, even when we were frustrated as children being corrected, there is always a good reason, and it is with love. It's a reminder that he is engaged in your life and he has a purpose for you. God is reaching in, correcting, training, and growing you.
