A Prayer of the Day. “And just as it is appointed for mortals to die once, and after that the judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.” (Hebrews 9:27-28 NRSV)

Lord Jesus, thank you for your redemption, giving your precious-sinless life to remove sin from us. On the cross, you made a great exchange that you took our sin and gave us your righteousness. Now we are children of God, not slaves of sin. Now we are in the light of truth, not in the darkness, deceitfulness, hopelessness of death. Now we have life, eternal life. Lord, help us to live worthily of the gospel. We don’t want to go back to the darkness. We don’t want to be a salve of sin, fear, anger, and death again. Lord, let us shine your light in this uncertain time. Let us witness your power of the gospel. Let us share the joy of salvation to people around us. In Jesus name. Amen.
