If you have a dog, then you probably know the feeling of being greeted by a wiggly, jumpy, excited pup who's been eagerly awaiting your return. I sure do! Whether I’ve been gone for a day or half an hour, my Lucy is a blur of joy and relief when I get home. I think of this when I consider how glorious it will be to face-to-face with the One who has for all this time been face-to-face with God for me. Jesus is face-to-face with God on my behalf right now. This is more personal than simply in the presence of God, isn’t it? And one day, I will see Him and know Him even as I have been fully seen and known. What a great day that will be, one for which, if I had a tail, would wag it in joy and eager anticipation! Maybe God gave us dogs to help us visualize that joy?
