There are few places in Scripture more deep and full of mystery than this passage of scripture. What it says is not at all difficult to understand. What we have here is presented in plain statements. We can see what happened with Jesus. We can listen as He prays. But to exhaust the full depths of it is beyond us. We must be content to say what Scripture allows us to say and then leave the rest to God.
