“David said to the Philistine, ‘You have come against me with the sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty. . . All those you have gathered here will know that it is not by the sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD’s. . .” —1 Samuel 17:45-47

Our courage does not lie in our abilities. Rather, our courage is rooted in our deep faith, knowing that God will always ultimately provide victory.

Just as he used a young shepherd boy named David, God uses ordinary people like us to do extraordinary things in His name. No matter what giants we face, we can step forward, rest in God’s Spirit, and trust that we’ll be filled with His strength.

How did David have such faith when facing Goliath? The geography of the holy land provides important context and backstory! Go deeper into this biblical event and others with Jack Beck using the link in our bio.
