Temptation for me is the same as temptation for you, is the same as temptation for anyone. This is the experience of every human being. There is no question as to whether or not we have experienced such a thing, and temptation operates the same way in every person’s life. Trials and temptations arrive in the same events, in the same life, but involve different dynamics. A trial (or a test) is an opportunity for Christian obedience. A temptation is a solicitation to disobedience. God is the author of one. God is never the author of the other. God tests. God DOES NOT tempt.
