Bill Johnson teaches how to stay true to God both on the mountaintops and in the valleys of life. It’s easy to love and serve God when things are going well, but when life becomes hard will we continue to trust in and pursue God? The opposite can also be the challenge; when life is difficult we pray and cry out to God for His help, relying on Him, but as life gets easier we can become complacent in our faith and distant from God. King Hezekiah was a great reformer who brought the nation of Israel out of witchcraft and demon worship and back to trust in God. In his later years though, he became complacent in the blessing and favor he had received and his relationship with God became apathetic. Tragically, after he died, the nation of Israel turned back to sin. Seeking first the Kingdom, living sacrificially, and continuing to pursue the things of God in every season will keep us from complacency.
