Weekly Thoughts for Sunday, April 26, 2020.
Next Sunday the sermon is from 1 Kings 17:8-17 – “When Jars and Jugs Never Empty”.
“The jar of flour was not spent, neither did the jug of oil become empty …”
1 Kings 17:16
Read 1 Kings 17:8-16. The passage contains an encouraging account of God providing for a poor widow, her son and the prophet Elijah. God fed them through a 3 ½ year drought and famine. As COVID-19 tightens its grip on us as individuals, as churches and as a nation, we need the reminder of 1 Kings 17:8-16. As the hymn states, “Have faith in God; He’s on His throne. Have faith in God; He watches o’er His own.”
