Sermon Discussion Questions:
1. Jesus seems to say that there are different kinds of freedom. The Jews thought themselves free yet Jesus proclaims that true freedom is found in him. What’s the difference between “Son-given” freedom and other types of freedom?

2. One of the keys to this passage is found in the word “abide” (or remain, continue). What are habits/practises you have in your life that help you abide in Christ?

3. One of the big picture pieces of this passage is that John is making a statement about the divinity of Jesus. Traditionally, the church has said that Jesus is both human & divine yet for 2000 years, people have challenged this view. Why does it matter?
