We started our MBC Fall Revival 2022 with an 11 AM Sunday Service with congregational hymns followed by our Adult Choir singing. We then enjoyed hearing special trios singing to conclude the Special Music program.
Our Guest Evangelist John Hamblin then came to the pulpit to preach a sermon entitled "I SEE YOU'RE UP A TREE" from Luke 19:4. The focus is on a popular New Testament subject from Luke...the tree that a man named Zacchaeus climbed to see Jesus.
Dr. Hamblin describes for us the conversion of Zacchaeus (after a corrupt life as a hated tax collector) to christianity by coming down out of the tree to meet Jesus and being changed forever more!
Dr. Hamblin presents three sermon points from what he calls his "Tree Theology":
1. TREE Climbers, (Those who try to reach heaven by their own works)
2. TREE Sitters, (Those who are confident of their salvation by their own works and want to remain in the "tree")
3. TREE Descenders. (Those (like Zacchaeus) who obey Christ and come down out of the tree to be eternally saved by God's grace alone).
