God Speaks in His Word:
New Testament Reading: 1 John 5:20-21

We Respond by Confessing Our Sins:
Holy God and Father, You have called us to love one another as members of one body. You have united us by one baptism, one Savior, through one Holy Spirit by the will of one Father. You have given us fellowship not only with you, but with one another. We acknowledge that you bind us in love together with those around us. We have communion in each other's gifts and graces. Nevertheless, we struggle to live up to your calling in Jesus Christ. We have at times judged others with pride, wounded them with our words, begrudged them our gifts and graces, been easily angered by them, provoked them with carelessness, dishonored them and spoken poorly of them. Forgive us, we plead, for the sake of the Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior. Recommit our wayward hearts to honoring our brothers and sisters, being tenderhearted, forgiving as we ourselves have been forgiven, and bearing the burdens of others. Do this, we pray, by the power of your Spirit and through the gift of your forgiveness in Jesus Christ. We pray in his name, amen. (Based on various passages like 1 John 1 and Ephesians, and from the Westminster Confession of Faith chapter 26)

* Corporate Prayer: The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
