So often we have favorite verses we quote with good intentions but at the same time disregard the context of the passage. Isaiah 55:8-9 is one such text. So many people use it to say we can't know God's thoughts or ways when the rest of the passage makes it clear God is not speaking to those who know him. It is important we understand the context of the passage we rip our well intentioned verse from and it is also important to see what the rest of the Bible says about a particular teaching.
