BEYOND OUR IMAGINATION - 1st Corinthians Chapter 2 verse 9 (Isaiah 64:4) - Scripture meditation.

“Human eye has not seen, mortal ear has not heard,
neither has it entered into the heart of any human being,
the things that God has prepared for those who love Him.”
1 Corinthians 2:9 (paraphrased).

“As it is written,
Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard,
neither have entered into the heart of man,
the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”
1st Corinthians chapter 2 verse 9 KJV (King James Version).

“From ages past no one has heard,
no ear has perceived, no eye has seen
any God besides you,
who works for those who wait for him.”
Isaiah chapter 64 verse 4 NRSV (New Revised Standard Version).

GOD has a wonderful surprise in store for you,
in eternity surely, but also for today.

LET US PRAY
“Dear Father, we know so little, we understand even less.
Please come and touch our lives (infected with rebellion) with your healing power.
Give us your inner peace, and a hope BEYOND OUR IMAGINATION
and we will give you the praise before a doubting, gasping world.

When listening again to this recording I feel that the wording in Isaiah is more profound than that in 1 Corinthians 2:9. Paul's words (in the English translation) focuses on things (streets of Gold? etc), but the text from the Prophet Isaiah points us to HIM who will not withhold any good thing, not even Himself, "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known." 1 Corinthians 13:12.
