Theodore Roosevelt is quoted to have said, “The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; and who strives valiantly; … who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly.” That is a good summation of “Let’s Do Difficult.” So, let’s begin to raise our hands and say to God, “Lord, I’ll do whatever You want me to do. We will start in our houses. We will start saying, ‘I love Jesus. I don’t follow the Lord perfectly, but I want to learn to follow Him better, and I would love for all of you to do that as well.’”
Let’s decide to take those steps, as awkward as they are. But don’t let your past failures be used by our adversary to intimidate you from taking a step toward the Lord. Folks, we need a Church with the courage to say, “We can make a difference.”
