There are daily opportunities to lie and deceive. It is imperative that we realize that “the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9). Recognizing this can keep us humble and alert. Although He did not approve of the deceptive method they used to achieve their goal, God did not withhold His blessing on Jacob. This is grace in action.
