Followers of Jesus understand that they are forgiven, saved and adopted solely on the basis of God’s grace by faith, completely apart from works. Nonetheless, that doesn’t mean that good works don’t have a place in the life of a believer. As we see in this passage, Scripture indicates that good works, through powerless to elevate one’s standing with God, are the logical result of saving faith in Jesus.
