Paul concluded his teaching on the relational dynamics of mature Christians by addressing masters and slaves. Slavery was a common practice in the Roman Empire and all throughout the ancient world. His job in this letter was not to talk about all the ways Rome had failed, but to encourage the church members toward maturity in all aspects of life including this one. Today, these principles still have power and can easily apply to our work/life relationships.
