. Jesus extended the invitation during His earthly ministry, and it is still open to all today!

. TO WHOM IS THE INVITATION GIVEN?

“All you who labor and are heavy laden” First and foremost, to those burdened by the heavyweight of sin. Sin is a burden that separates one from (God) Jesus. Isaiah 59:1-2. It also has terrible side effects such as lack of inner peace, anxiety, depression, fear, and doubt. Isaiah 48:22. The ultimate consequence of sin is spiritual death. Romans 6:23. This invitation, then, is for everyone, for all are sinners. Romans 3:23,10 and are in bondage to sin and its heavy burden. John 8:34.

Sadly, many are too proud to admit their burden. It takes humility to surrender to Jesus. The simple explanation is people don't want to admit they are sinners. Yet they are enslaved by sin and its heavyweight. They need Divine help to be freed from the burden of sin. If you are not too proud to admit you are a sinner, then “Jesus' Invitation” is especially for you!

HOW ABOUT YOU?

Do you desire the rest for your soul that is offered in “Jesus’ Invitation?”

⦁ Receive remission of sins. Acts 2:36; 22:16.
⦁ Put on, Christ. Galatians 3:27.
⦁ Rise to walk in the newness of life. Romans 6:3-4.

As one rises from the watery grave of baptism, they are freed from the burden of sin through the precious blood of Christ. Ephesians 1:7.

I. GOSPEL MEANS GOOD NEWS
The Greek word is euaggelion in the New Testament, it is spoken only of the glad tidings of Christ and His salvation. Luke 2:10.

THE GOSPEL IS Jesus' POWER TO SAVE
Paul wrote that the gospel "is the power of Jesus to salvation for everyone who believes". Romans 1:16.

BEWARE OF FALSE GOSPELS
Even in the first century there were different gospels. Galatians 1:6-9.

THE GOSPEL MUST BE OBEYED
Peter raised the question, "What will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of Jesus?" 1 Peter 4:17. Paul answers that there will be terrible consequences in 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9

Are you sure that you have obeyed the gospel of Christ?

II. HERE ARE FACTS TO BELIEVE!

JESUS DIED FOR OUR SINS
Jesus died for our sins. 1 Corinthians 15:1-3. Paul likely had reference to Isaiah who wrote hundreds of years years before Jesus’ death. Isaiah 53:4-6

JESUS WAS BURIED AND RAISED
Foretold by Scripture and attested to by many eyewitnesses. 1 Corinthians 15:4-8.

JESUS IS COMING AGAIN
He is returning as promised, to judge the world in righteousness. Acts 1:9-11; 17:30-31. To be ready for the day of judgment, we must obey the gospel! 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9. You obey the Gospel not to earn salvation, but to receive it!

III. THERE ARE COMMANDS TO OBEY!

WE MUST BELIEVE THE GOSPEL
Otherwise, we will be lost. Mark 16:15-16; Romans 1:16. We must believe and trust Jesus who died for our sins. John 1:29.

YOU MUST REPENT
This means to make the decision to turn from your sins.

WE MUST BE BAPTIZED FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS

Baptism is water immersion. Acts 8:36; 10:47-48. The Greek word is baptizo which means "to immerse". Acts 2:38; 8:36-37. For those who seek to have their sins washed.

WE MUST REMAIN FAITHFUL
Obeying the GOSPEL of Christ is just the beginning. Are you willing to be faithful to Jesus?

IV. THERE ARE PROMISES TO RECEIVE!

THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS
By the blood of Jesus our sins are washed away, blotted out! Acts 2:38; 3:19.

THE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE
The wages of sins are death. Romans 6:23. Don’t you want the assurance of eternal life when you die?

THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
THOSE BORN OF THE SPIRIT SPEAKING IN TONGUES ACCORDING TO ACTS 1:8, ACTS 2:38

THE FAMILY OF Jesus
In Christ, we are blessed to have many brothers and sisters. Acts 2;42; This family encourages us to remain faithful. Hebrews 3:14.
