In the midst of Holy Week, Jesus taught and ministered in the temple. He challenged the religious leaders, and they didn’t like that. “By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked Jesus. The implication was, "You don't have the authority to do the things that you're doing, so we're here to tell you to stop it. You're acting beyond your scope of authority." What had Jesus been doing? He'd been raising the dead and healing the sick. He'd been exposing the looting and the fraud in the temple. A similar thing is being asked in our world today. "Does Elon Musk really have the authority to do what he's doing? How dare he do that? He's not an elected official!" No, he's really not. But the truth is he's working for the executive branch, and there's only one elected member of the executive branch: the President of the United States.
