Starting with an explanation of the double Passover presented in verse 28, we proceed to examine the trial of the Lord Jesus. Seven times Pilate goes in to his court and back out to the Jews. What can we learn from the behaviours and statements made by both sides? Why did the Jews say they could not kill him when they had tried to kill him and others and, indeed, did kill others? We look at the prophecies fulfilled in the exact way these things were done, several layers of meaning in the communication between Jesus and Pilate, Christ's undiminished deity on display throughout the event, and an inspiring overview of the Bible's definition of Truth.
