Joseph forgives his brothers for what they did to him years ago (
Genesis 37:18 -36) What his family meant for evil God made turn out to be good. This passage teaches us that sometimes people close to us can harm us in ways that hurt very deeply but, even-though they were trying to harm us God still saw fit to make it use that pain for our good. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger. The passage chiefly reminds us to practice forgiveness not because they deserve it, but because we ourselves need it.
