Exodus 24:3,7 - Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord and all the rules. And all the people answered with one voice and said, "All the words that the Lord has spoken we will do."...Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it in the hearing of the people. And they said, "All that the Lord has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient."
Joshua 24:22-24 - Then Joshua said to the people, "You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen the Lord, to serve him." And they said, "We are witnesses." He said, " Then put away the foreign gods that are among you, and incline your hear to the Lord, the God of Israel." And the people said to Joshua, "The Lord our God we will serve, and his voice we will obey.

Though we may stubbornly and repeatedly disobey Him, God shows us incredible grace.

Genesis 17:7-8 - And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you. And I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God."
Hebrews 12:5-7 - "My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. for the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives." It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating ;you as sons.

God's grace can also be seen in the way He might discipline those He loves.

Deuteronomy 7:1-4 - "When the Lord your God brings you into the land that you are entering to take possession of it....You shall not intermarry with them, giving your daughters to their sons or taking their daughters for your sons, for they would turn away your sons from following me, to serve other gods. Then the anger of the Lord would be kindled against you.
2 Corinthians 6:14-15 - Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?....Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever?
Hebrews 12:10-11 - [God] disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness. For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

In everything God does, His desire is that we become lifelong followers of Him.
