Romans 3:10-12,14-18 - as it is written: "None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one." "Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness." "Their feet are swift to shed blood; in their paths are ruin and misery, and the way of peace they have not known." "There is no fear of God before their eyes."

Where there is no gratitude toward God, we tend to ignore sin and act destructively.

Psalm 139:1-5 - O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.
Galatians 6:7 - Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.

When there is no fear of God, we will believe that the end justifies the means.

2 Peter 3:9 - The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

Though evil seems to reign for a time, God is still sovereign and wants us to repent.
