Jesus impresses the synagogue crowd in his hometown, Nazareth. But they ken his faither and they demand to be impressed. Jesus responds by reminding them that the great prophets Elijah and Elisha were rejected by the people of Israel and continued their ministries among the Gentiles. The crowd turns on Jesus - they realise that he is implying that they, too, are disobedient to God and do not want to hear his message to them.
