The Word of God has been tried and tested throughout the ages and it stands to this day. The Bible has always been under attack by Satan who has tried to destroy it and keep it from God’s people. Many Christians have given up their lives for the Bible, including William Tyndale who translated the Bible into English.

From 1604-1611, the King of England allowed the translation of a version of the English Bible that was recognised by the state. 47 godly scholars of great faith well versed in the original languages of the Biblical manuscripts (e.g. Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic) faithfully and accurately translated the Bible, known as the King James Version today.

We are blessed to have a perfect Bible in our hands today. God has been faithful as He had promised, to preserve His Word throughout all generations (Matthew 24:35). God in His omnipotence has ensured that the Bible today remains infallible and inerrant as it is the foundation of our faith (Psalm 12:7, Matthew 5:18).

The Bible is inspired by God and is His very words (2Timothy 3:16). God worked through people to pen down His words (2Peter 1:21).

The Word of God is flawless and countless Christians have tried it and found it to be faithful - God cannot lie and He never fails to fulfil all of His promises in the Bible (Hebrews 6:18).

God’s Word is a light unto our path, and a lamp to our feet as it shows us the way we should live and protects us from being deceived by the lies of the devil (Psalm 119:105). God’s Word sanctifies our lives as we seek to walk in God’s holy ways. (Psalm 119:9).

When we saturate our hearts and minds with God’s Word, God the Holy Spirit works in our lives so that we can be the salt and light in this world of darkness to point people to Christ. Armed with the sword of the Spirit, which is God’s Word, we can defend ourselves from the deceits of the devil and stand firm in the faith of Jesus Christ.

God’s Word is alive and is the means by which God speaks directly to us. God's Word has the power to change our lives. May all of us love the Word of God by studying it daily to know our Almighty God!
