Jesus Prays
(Mark 1:35-39)

God
is the Father who dwells in heaven.
He
is the Father of Jesus Christ
and the Father of our born-again spirits (Rom 8:15).
When Jesus was in the flesh,
He prayed to the Father (Heb 5:7).
Prayer is asking help
from the Father who dwells in heaven (Mt 26:39).
This shows how weak Jesus was
when He was in the flesh (Heb 2:9).
The flesh needs God’s help (Mt 26:41),
and the spirit is restrained as much as the flesh is powerless (Rom 8:22).
Though Jesus is God’s Son,
He prays all the time (Mt 14:23).
He prayed early in the morning to preach the Gospel (Mk 1:35-38),
and when He prayed for Himself (Mt 26:42),
He sometimes prayed with vehement cries (Heb 5:7)
and prayed in agony and more earnestly (Lk 22:44).
He prays for us now (Rom 8:34).
He said, “Pray, for the flesh is weak” (Mt 26:41),
and the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness
and makes intercession (Rom 8:26-27).
◎ Since the Lord prays,
let’s also pray wholeheartedly!
◎ Prayer is the way to ask for God’s power.
The Lord will give His grace.
◎ Prayer is the Lord’s promise.
He will accomplish it
and God will be glorified.
※ Prayer is the breath of believers.
The prayer of faith has great power and is effective.
Let’s watch and pray without ceasing.
