In this message we focus on two important interpretive issues regarding Romans 7:7-25. First, we examine how Paul uses himself as a paradigm for every unregenerate Jew under the Law by using “I” (ego) in this passage. Second, we prove that Paul depicts himself as an unbeliever throughout the entirety of the passage. With this knowledge we conclude that Paul is showing a major shift between the inability of the Law of Moses to save (Romans 7), and the ability of Christ to save under the New Covenant (Romans 8). Come and wrestle with us through these important interpretive decisions in Romans.
