Today’s Verses: 2 Kings 19:14–15 (NKJV)
“And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it; and Hezekiah went up to the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord. Then Hezekiah prayed before the Lord, and said: ‘O Lord God of Israel, the One who dwells between the cherubim, You are God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.’”

Hezekiah received a letter that promised total destruction. Humanly speaking, it was terrifying, and there was no way out. Yet notice what he did: he read it, he went up to the house of the Lord, he spread it out before God, and then he prayed, putting everything into perspective by declaring who God is. He did not deny the threat, but he refused to treat the threat as god. Instead of running to more advisers, more panic, or more self-talk, he ran straight into the presence of the One who made heaven and earth and laid the whole situation out before Him.

So today, take whatever “letter” you are holding and spread it out before the Lord. Lay out your fears in honest prayer, ask Him for wisdom and deliverance, and remind your heart that no enemy, diagnosis, opinion, or report is Lord over your life.
