Today’s Verse: 1 Samuel 16:7 (NKJV)
“But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’”

We are so easily impressed and discouraged by what we see on the outside. We judge people by looks, moods, behavior, and first impressions because that’s all our eyes can see. But God is not limited like we are. He sees perfectly, and He looks straight to the heart. That is both a warning and a deep comfort.

So today, thank the Lord that He does not see as man sees, and ask Him to make your heart right before Him. Bring Him the places where you’ve let attitude, irritation, or the flesh drag you around, and repent quickly, trusting that He smiles on the heart that runs back to Him. Pray that your desire to pursue Jesus would be real and growing, not just words you say. Lift up your children, grandchildren, and church family, asking God to give them new hearts that love Him, fear Him, and burn to obey Him from the inside out.
