Even as Israel experienced an emotional and spiritual response to freedom from exile in Babylon, we experience an emotional and spiritual response to freedom from sin.

If you are free in Christ, make sure you call to mind how you were enslaved and how Christ made you free. The Scriptures teach that through the death He died, He rendered sin, death, and Satan ineffective and powerless over us. Call to mind the burden that rolled away at the cross. Call to mind the life-cleansing blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Forget you life which once was, press on and reach for what is ahead. All of your affection, hope, and joy is found in Heaven. We were exiles and strangers in this world and our home is with Christ.
