Jesus isn't talking about being lost LOCATION-ALLY. He's talking about being lost RELATIONALLY. God knows our physical location. What God lost was a relation with the person. The response of the father is the amazing part, not the actions of the son. Father God allows us to squander life away as he patiently waits and never not loves us.
